Kilkenny community groups receive funding for climate action projects - JULY 2024

Kilkenny County Council and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications are delighted to award €511,000 to 22 Kilkenny communities who will deliver a variety of climate action projects.

Following a very competitive process with a large number of applications received, these groups were successful in obtaining funding under the Community Climate Action Programme. The main objective of this programme is to support and empower communities to take climate action and to shape and build low carbon, sustainable communities in a coherent way to contribute to national climate and energy targets.

There will be another round of funding opening for the Community Climate Action Programme in the future, Kilkenny County Council are awaiting an update from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications on this with details being announced once confirmed.
